Keychain Access is the macOS built-in password management app. It stores your passwords and account information so that you have fewer passwords to remember and manage.
Open Keychain Access. In the top-left corner, unlock the keychain (if it is locked). Choose the System keychain from the top-left corner. Find your distribution certificate and click the disclosure triangle. Double-click ‘Private key’ under your distribution certificate. In the popup, go to the Access Control tab.
When you access a website, email account, network server, or other password-protected item, Keychain Access offers to remember or save the password. If you choose to save the password, it’s saved in your keychain so you don’t have to remember or type your password every time.
The NordVPN app stores your account password in the keychain for safety and convenience. Every time you connect, our app will access the keychain for your password, and you may get a prompt to enter your keychain password. The keychain password usually matches your device password, unless you have changed it.
If you want to skip the prompt in the future, enter the password and click Always allow.

Keychain Access User Guide
By default, your keychain password is the same as your user password (the password you use to log in to the computer). You can change the user password in Users & Groups preferences and the keychain password is automatically changed to match it.
If you don’t remember your previous user password, you need to reset your default keychain. Resetting the default keychain deletes all the passwords saved in the keychain, but should allow you to sync up your login password and the password stored in the keychain.
